WELCOME TO AIRSOFT

WHAT IS AIRSOFT?

Airsoft is a shooting discipline-based sport, played using airsoft replica weapons known legally as restricted airguns and commonly as airsoft guns. Airsoft is similar to paintball, but uses 6mm BB's (much less messy!). The sport is played either for competition or purely for fun in solo and team play events and we have massive amounts of fun doing it!

Palmerston North Airsoft Club (P.A.C.) runs games locally, and co-ordinates with other airsoft clubs for a wide variety of game types at locations all around New Zealand. P.A.C. is one of New Zealand’s older airsoft clubs, operating for over 20 years now.

P.A.C.’s main aim is to have fun, both as a group and as individuals. We get to learn new skills such as team-work, safe handling of our weaponry and meet new people from across New Zealand.

Basic Membership

The basic membership requirements are:
a.  Be 16 years of age (conditions apply see below)
b.  Completion of the probationary period (typically x3 P.A.C. games)

c.  Completion of the P.A.C. Application for Membership form

d.  Completion of P.A.C. Waiver form
e. Payment of any General Gaming fees, Day Membership fees, Annual Subscription fees or other fees as determined by the Committee, who reserve the right to reject any application on any grounds whatsoever.

More information on participation ages and restrictions around ages and the use of a restricted airsoft weapon is found in the P.A.C. 'Information Booklet'.

Note: Full financial members of any recognized affiliated airsoft club have the same weapon limits and benefits of a full P.A.C. member.

Please Note: Due to the on-going review of the New Zealand Firearms laws legislation this booklet and content does NOT reflect the current status of the law. Once passed to law the booklet will reflect the changes.

Non Members

You can sign up for games via a 'Day Membership’ where you can access club gear to enable you to play.

  • Players 14 to 16 years must be accompanied by a non-playing parent/supervisor/senior club member (NB: club members may not always be free to supervise).

  • This also applies to ages 16 to 18 unless they possess a firearms license.

  • If you are 18 years of age and over, you do not need a firearms license.

New players will need to bring with them ID for proof of age and fill out a player form on the day.

A person using a 'Day Membership' in which to play is still restricted to the clubs CQB class until they come off a probationary period of 3 games or so which allows the club to assess conduct etc.
If you have your own gear, you may use it so long as it meets CQB limits also.

More great Information

The P.A.C. 'Information Booklet' is designed to give you a bit of a heads up when it comes to rules, airsoft weapon replicas, and general safety.

Some information pre-dates some recent Firearms law changes, which as we mentioned, we are working our way through. Once that new information becomes available, we will update our booklet to reflect those changes.

But have a read!
